About me

Born in South Africa, I have worked in a number of UK museums since early this millennium. I am now an Associate Professor at the Sainsbury Research Unit for the Arts of Africa, Oceania and the Americas.

In 2022, I began to write Argonauts of the Eastern Atlantic: Artefactual Histories of the London Missionary Society, and have been awarded a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship to work on this in 2024.

All thoughts expressed here are my own.
